Hello there, today we're going to learn or review the differences between two verbs that most people get confused, the verbs are do and make. These verbs have the same meaning but there are some rules to use them.
Do (Did, Done)
Perform an activity or task
do the washing up: lavar a louça.
do the laundry: lavar a roupa.
do the dishes: lavar a louça.
do a crossword: fazer palavras cruzadas.
Refer to any kind of work
do the homework: fazer a tarefa escolar.
do the housework: fazer os trabalhos domésticos.
To talk about things in general; to describe an action without saying exactly what it is. This form is used with the words something, nothing, anything and everything.
Examples:
I'm not doing anything now. Eu não estou fazendo nada agora.
I need to do everything here. Eu preciso fazer de tudo aqui.
Do something to help her. Faça algo para ajudar ela.
He's doing nothing. Ele não está fazendo nada.

Express constructing, building, creating and cooking. These actions create something that you can touch.
